Description
Domaine Méo-Camuzet
📍 Vosne-Romanée, Côte de Nuits – Burgundy, France
Domaine Méo-Camuzet is one of Burgundy’s most prestigious and sought-after producers, based in the heart of Vosne-Romanée. With holdings in some of the region’s most iconic grands crus—including Richebourg, Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, and Corton-Charlemagne—the domaine combines tradition with a precise, modern approach to winemaking.
Originally established in the early 20th century and once managed by the legendary Henri Jayer, the domaine rose to global prominence under the leadership of Jean-Nicolas Méo, who returned from Paris in the late 1980s to take over winemaking.
Philosophy & Style:
-
Minimal intervention, gravity-fed winemaking, native yeast fermentation.
-
Whole cluster use when appropriate, depending on vintage and terroir.
-
Elegant yet structured wines, with impressive age-worthiness and purity of fruit.
-
White wines (like Corton-Charlemagne) reflect tension, minerality, and finesse.
The estate now cultivates around 17 hectares, with both domaine bottlings and négoce cuvées under the Méo-Camuzet Frère & Soeurs label. Every bottle embodies the estate’s uncompromising pursuit of Burgundian excellence.
