Domaine Noblet-Gauthier works in the Côte d’Or, farming its parcels on biodynamic principles and vinifying each of them separately. The estate’s range runs from the Grand Cru slopes of Corton-Charlemagne down to this Bourgogne Côte d’Or, and the same discipline is applied at every level.

The Bourgogne Côte d’Or appellation was created in 2017 to distinguish regional wines grown on the Côte d’Or itself from the much broader Bourgogne AOC. In practice it means the fruit comes from the same slope as the village and premier cru wines above it — a meaningful difference, and one that shows in the glass.

Vinification is deliberately restrained: indigenous fermentation, minimal handling, and oak used for texture rather than flavour. The wine is made to be drunk rather than deconstructed, but it carries the mineral signature of the Côte clearly.

2023 was generous and healthy in Burgundy, with good volumes and firm acidity behind the ripeness. Supplied in an original six-bottle case.
