Cros-Parantoux is the most storied premier cru in Burgundy — the tiny, rocky parcel above Richebourg made legendary by Henri Jayer, and farmed today by Jean-Nicolas Méo, who trained at Jayer’s side. For many collectors it stands with the grands crus of Vosne-Romanée.
The 2013 is a classicist’s vintage: cool, precise, built on tension rather than weight — exactly the register in which Cros-Parantoux excels. Production is measured in a handful of barrels; bottles rarely surface with clean provenance.
