Domaine Kei Shiogai
Domaine Kei Shiogai is a compelling story of passion, precision, and a global vision coming to life in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune. Born in Tokyo, Kei Shiogai discovered his calling in viticulture during stints in Japan and New Zealand before moving to Burgundy in 2014. After studying viticulture in Beaune and Dijon, and honing his craft at legendary estates like Pacalet, Rousseau, and Roulot, he launched his namesake domaine, sourcing grapes from esteemed appellations such as Pommard and Gevrey‑Chambertin .
Kei’s approach is unapologetically meticulous: ultra low yields, millerandage selection, native yeast fermentations with whole-cluster macerations, manual pigeage, and extended élevage lasting up to 18 months—all with minimal sulfur usage
The result is wines of remarkable purity, aromatic intensity, and supple elegance—silky yet powerful, textured yet precise, with floral-herbal notes and profound length.
Display rare vintages like Pommard “Poisot” and Gevrey-Chambertin “Baraques” capture both the structured lineage of Burgundy and Kei’s dynamic, modern expression—making him one of the most exciting new talents in the region
