Échézeaux is the largest of the Vosne-Romanée grand crus — some 37 hectares divided among more than eighty owners, which makes it the grand cru where the grower matters most. Well made, it gives Vosne’s perfume in a lighter, more immediate register than Richebourg or La Tâche.

Domaine Boigey Frères is a small family estate of the Côte de Nuits, working its parcels by hand and vinifying on indigenous yeasts. Its Échézeaux is made in minute quantity.

2023 was a generous, warm vintage in Burgundy — a large crop that rewarded those who managed yields and picked with judgement. The reds are supple and open-framed.

Red cherry and rose over warm spice and a touch of forest floor; silky and perfumed on the palate, the tannins fine, closing long and sappy. The most accessible way into the Vosne grand crus.
