Château d’Astros lies between vineyard and forest on the banks of the Argens, in the heart of the Var. The estate was founded in the thirteenth century by the Knights Templar and today extends over 680 hectares, of which eighty are planted to certified organic vines.

It has become one of the more interesting addresses in Provence — a property large enough to have real range, farmed organically, and increasingly known for whites and reds rather than only for rosé. The wines are released under the Côtes de Provence AOP and IGP Var appellations.

Cuvée Amour is the estate’s signature range, conceived around shared occasions rather than around a single grape or parcel. The white is harvested at night to limit oxidation and preserve aromatic freshness, sulphited sparingly, and vinified traditionally in stainless steel so that the floral character comes through unmasked.

Pale and luminous in the glass, it is a Provençal white with more substance than the category usually allows — good now, and with the balance to hold for several years.
