Emotional Connection

How Does En Primeur Buying Work?

Wines are evaluated and sampled directly from the barrel. Afterward, these wines are offered for sale, allowing you to make your selection. They are typically sold In Bond, meaning before Duty and VAT are applied, and usually in case quantities. Once the wines are ready, they are bottled and transported to our storage facilities in France. From there, you can choose to have them delivered directly to you (with local taxes applied) or opt for storage. Storing your wines allows for the possibility of selling them later. Upon delivery, Duty and VAT payments are required.

What’s Included in En Primeur Prices?

Our En Primeur prices are In Bond, which includes shipping to our facilities in France. Insurance is also included, covering the wines at their original invoice value until ownership transfer, after which they are insured at prevailing market rates.
Duty and VAT are excluded from the wine price and are payable upon withdrawal from Bond.

What Are the Duty and VAT Rates on Wine?

The Duty and VAT rates depend on the destination country. For example, if you wish to deliver your wine to Cyprus, there is no duty on wine, so you will only pay the delivery cost to Cyprus and the local VAT of 19%.

Overall, buying En Primeur wine can be an exciting opportunity for wine lovers to secure unique bottles and potentially make an investment in their collection. However, it’s essential to research the wine, producer, and market conditions before making a purchase, as it involves some level of risk and commitment.
