Domaine Jacques Dury was founded in 1955 by Henri Dury as a mixed farm, and turned to wine under his son Jacques. It is run today by the third and fourth generations, Hervé and Rémi Dury — Rémi named Côte Chalonnaise Young Winemaker of the Year in 2023.

The estate works sixteen hectares across the Côte Chalonnaise, most of it in Rully, on slopes facing east over soil rich in limestone and marl. Farming is lutte raisonnée.

The reds are fully destemmed, cold-soaked and gently extracted, then aged twelve months in vat rather than barrel — a deliberate choice that leaves the fruit unvarnished.

Mercurey is the largest and most serious red appellation of the Côte Chalonnaise — more structured than Rully, with limestone-rich soils that give the wines a stony backbone rather than simple fruit.

Black cherry and plum with a touch of black pepper; precise and juicy on the palate, framed by silky tannins and closing on that stony freshness. A red for the table, and one that will hold five to seven years without difficulty.
